Purpose of the Role
You will support the CFO in financial operations, reporting, and decision-making, gradually building a broader understanding of the company’s finance function. The position involves work across financial operations, controlling, and business partnering. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in various aspects of financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight
• Supervising day-to-day financial operations (AP/AR, payroll, cash management, general accounting)
• Coordination with external accounting provider
• Ensuring compliance with accounting and tax regulations
• ERP system maintenance and data integrity
Financial Reporting & Analysis
• Preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (statutory and group reporting)
• Managing the monthly closing process
• Delivering management reporting package
• Variance analysis and performance tracking
Budgeting & Forecasting
• Assisting the CFO with preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts
• Cash-flow planning and monitoring
• Financial modelling and scenario analysis
Audit & Compliance
• Supporting annual audit preparation
• Main point of contact for external auditors
• Ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards
• Support the shareholder reporting requirements
Business Partnering
• Supporting management in pricing and investment decisions
• Margin and profitability analysis by product/customer
• Identifying financial risks and opportunities
• Participation in strategic projects
Process Improvement & Digitalization
• Identifying and implementing more efficient finance procedures
• Automation and reporting improvements
• Cooperation on data analytics and BI reporting (Power BI advantage)
• Interest in AI and digital tools in finance welcomed
Expected Ownership (6 Months)
Within 6 months you are expected to independently manage:
• Monthly closing process
• Communication with accounting provider
• Cash-flow planning
• Management reporting pack
• Financial controlling for business decisions
Success in the First Year
After 12 months in the role you should:
• Fully own the monthly closing and reporting
• Deliver reliable rolling forecast
• Improve at least one key finance process
• Become the primary finance partner for management decisions
Požadavky
Requirements:
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
Technical Skills
• Advanced proficiency in MS 365+, especially Excel (complex formulas, modelling)
• Experience with ERP systems
• Solid knowledge of GAAP or IFRS standards
• Experience with reporting/BI tools (Power BI advantage)
Soft Skills
• Czech and English written and spoken communication skills
• Strategic mindset – ability to understand business drivers beyond numbers
• Leadership potential – capability to lead a small team or manage projects independently
• Strong communication skills – ability to explain financial data to non-finance stakeholders
